My journey towards being involved in the world of birth started with this little squishy face

How I miss those cheeks

Raven's Birth

The birth of my daughter was the most empowering experience of my life. I felt blessed to have been so loved and supported throughout the surging waves and transformation of my birthing experience. The women who attended my daughter’s birth, were all mamas themselves which echoed of tradition to me, the ways of birth from the times of our ancestors.

I knew that I needed to get involved with birth somehow.

The Newborn Spa

Another reason that I decided to be a doula was because of this video below. Bringing babies into the world gently, with a conscious understanding that everything is new and beautiful; a spectacle to behold in every way possible. Sight, sound, touch, taste…. These are all first time experiences in this little being’s environment, so why not try to create the most pleasurable and serene experiences possible. That, and I wished someone had taught me how to bathe Rays, since our first bath was full of screaming and crying, not the blissed-out, back in the womb vibe that this lucky little one experiences. Well, better luck next time I guess :)
